Of those not seen or only part of, notable to me are 8, 30, 74 and 83. Schindler’s List feels too intense for me, I’ve seen enough of Apocalypse in film class to satisfy, I’ve seen enough scenes and heard the stories of Silence of the Lambs to avoid, and never ever saw Titanic, though it’s on my Netflix queue.

I love movies, and often watch parts of them on commercial TV and then change the channel. To dedicate 2 hours of my time to one flick, it has to promise me something in return. In advance. I am not at all fond of surprises, especially manipulative ones. I like mysteries, like The Sixth Sense (which mystery was painfully obvious to me when Bruce Willis and his wife were having supper “together”). But I am really fond of “little” movies. One that comes to mind right now is Mystery, Alaska.

And I cannot believe the Kiss of the Spider Woman didn’t make the list. Sure, there are some great silent films to recognize in the top 100, and yes, I love a great b&w film, but … well, call me biased for sound.
