http://www.engadgethd.com/2008/09/29/nero-liquidtv-tivo-pc-brings-tivo-interface-to-the-pc/

I ran across this a day or so after reading this entry. Looks promising. We've still not found it sensible for us to get an HDTV, or even digital cable for that matter (too many boxes would be needed as there's no central 'family viewing area').

So far, Ma is actually getting along just fine with using the Network websites for the shows that she misses (very impressed with how little help she needed with that), and I've got a 'media server' that I'm running that both Xbox 360s have access to. Tuckey's at least using it as a jukebox when he's playing certain games.

Ha-ha, he said CON-tra-versy. I liked that, thanks. And since dh has a man-crush, he prolly will, too, so I'll have him watch.

Haha, President Sanjaya. OMG.

Out of curiosity (since I'm unsure how long the class will run), are there any plans to tie some of the paintings in with November Writing (assuming that you're gunning for that this year as well)? I've always wanted to be able to illustrate my own stories, or at least some scenes. I'm also reminded how Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman were inspired by just one Elmore painting for the cover of "Dragons of Autumn Twilight".

And if you discover the secret of overcoming the innate need for perfection when drawing, could you drop a couple of hints? Kudos for sticking to it!

(I've misplaced your e-mail addy, if you could mail me, I'd appreciate it. Need to update you on Ma.) glasswalker at comcast dot net

Brava for working through the "this isn't what I signed up for" feeling and finding your path. I chickened out after *one* belly-dancing class, so I really applaud your gumption. :)

My perfectionism goes completely off the charts when it comes to drawing….

Yes, this is SO me as well. Which is why I can do a heck of a layout for graphic stuff... where precision and right angles rule :-)

I'm so impressed at your willingness to jump into this, and even more so, your willingness to share the journey. You inspire me. Can't wait to read more about how it goes. And maybe one day to see something you've painted. But if not, it's still fun to read about it!

They have been stealing money from people, since they first started. Two years ago, I had the same problem.
Two months ago, I got a letter, after a long and bitter fight that I be removed from their email spam. They assured me, I would not get another email.
Today, I got an email about the Extended Services on my account. When I called, I as told I had not closed my account - over two year ago!

Everyone...listen up. You can return all the wonderful harrassment and misery they have caused you.

Call them: 800-648-9548.

Stay on the line and hang up, when a customer service rep answers. This call is free to you. They pay big bucks for the 800 service and staff to answer phones.

At least this is something
