Fallow
Monday, December 10th, 2007Even the most creative people need downtime. In agriculture (of old, not sure what miracles they till in these days), a fallow season meant a field had a chance to just be - no crops, no action, just worms, birds, rains and whatever happened along.
Today was a fallow day. The biggest accomplishment was catching up with the dishes and gettng the Kid to school on time. But, if I know myself even a little, tomorrow I will have a slow steady burn of creative energy and will accomplish a number of things that the past five days of being sick have forced me to neglect. Fresh bananas, toilet paper and ketchup are on the list. As is some paperwork, the final wrap-up of the wrapping of boxes to mail off, and maybe some cards.
Unless I extend my fallow season with a long nap.
